Montessori Primary Head Teacher

We are looking for a Montessori Primary Head Teacher to join our team. This is a full-time

position. The work site is 1701 17th Street, San Francisco, CA 94103.

Job Duties:

Lead Montessori classrooms and prepare a Montessori environment by creating materials and

activities tailored to kindergarteners. Carefully and actively monitor the well-being and holistic

development of each child, following appropriate policies and procedures of school/state to

ensure their constant physical and emotional safety. Curate the physical classroom environment,

including spatial arrangement and furnishings, as well as the sequential order and difficulty level

of teaching materials. Assume a positive leadership role for one or more assistant teachers,

providing ongoing guidance and mentorship in the Montessori philosophy. Foster regular,

productive dialogue with assistants to enhance their classroom support. Proactively engage with

parents and handle complex parent and student issues. Maintain consistent communication with

parents regarding their children’s progress. Collaborate with the parents and the Head of School

to address intricate behavioral or developmental needs of children. Document children’s

advancements and write children’s semi-annual progress reports. Participate in Parent Education

Events to educate parents and families about the Montessori method. Work with the Lead

Teacher team to formulate various topics for parent information events that furnish parents with strategies aligned with their children’s school experience. Contribute as needed to outreach and

community-building activities, including open houses, holiday celebrations, and other engaging

events. Collaborate with the campus community in organizing festival celebrations, open houses,

cooking events, field trips and social events for families.

Master’s degree in Education or related

Compensation:

The salary for the position is $68k-70k/year, full coverage of premium for medical and dental, paid national holidays and about 4 weeks of paid school holidays (throughout the year), PTO accrual, professional development opportunities, and the US working visa sponsorship.

Infant/Toddler class Head teacher

About the position

We are seeking dedicated, benevolent AMI/AMS trained Infant/Toddler Class Head Teachers who are passionate about equity, diversity, community building, teacher leadership and child and family support. The Infant/Toddler Class Head Teachers will work in collaboration with the Head of School and assistant teachers to ensure a nurturing and positive experience for the children in our care and their families. We also sponsor the US working visa for this position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Classroom Management and Supervision

  • Assistant Teachers/Substitutes Management and Supervision

  • Creates and updates individual Montessori lessons plans for each child

  • Individual and small group Montessori lessons for the children

  • Support children’s learning with Montessori materials throughout the day

  • Record observations of children’s activities throughout the day

  • Build relationships with families by greeting them warmly at drop off or pick up

  • Lead parent/teacher conferences twice a year with the Head of School

  • Updates classroom reports for children and families

  • Prepare the environment including cleaning, making, refreshing, arranging and stocking classroom materials

  • Acts as a substitute in order to assure adequate coverage for school site; orients substitute if Head of School is not present.

  • Administers first aid, provides health office coverage and dispenses approved medication to students in accordance with EMSA First Aid/CPR training.

  • Collaborate with classroom staff and administration

  • Take children to Jackson Park & Playground for outdoor play time with other staff and teachers

  • Be willing and able to follow and implement all pandemic health protocols

Qualifications

  • AMI or AMS Diploma for Infancy (0-3 years old)

  • More than Two-Year Experience of Classroom Management and Supervision

  • 12 ECE Credits (the AMI/AMS Diploma may meet this requirement)

  • Criminal and Background Clearance

  • Able to lift 40lbs

Montessori Certified Junior Teacher

The Montessori Certified Junior Teacher will work in collaboration with the Head Teacher to ensure a nurturing and positive experience for the children in our care and their families. This is a perfect role for a candidate who is excited to learn from an experienced teacher and has an appetite to step into leadership to lead the classroom in the near future! preschool Assistant Teacher

About the position

PHMS is seeking to hire full-time, loving, warm, and passionate educators to join our supportive team. The Assistant Teacher works in collaboration with the Head Teacher and Junior Teacher to prepare and maintain the classroom environment, including cleaning, arranging and stocking classroom materials. Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise children inside the classroom and during park outings

  • Keep the environment in order: clean, supplied and in good repair

  • Support the Head Teacher and Junior Teacher by observing children and keeping records of their progress

  • Be available for full time work Monday through Friday

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred

  • 12 ECE Credits (Minimum of 6 units completed and enrolled in 6 additional units)

  • Love of children and families

  • Must have oral and written proficiency in the English language

  • Must complete post-offer, pre-employment physical, provide proof of required vaccinations and TB test
